This 6 minute video titled “Tell Me What to Say: How to Approach Challenging Patient Conversations” from a clinician at Boston Medical Center’s Grayken Center for Addiction provides guidance for providers having difficult conversations with patients about addiction treatment in clinical settings. The video advises clinicians to be careful in their word choices by using non-stigmatizzing terminology, be aware of their body language, and address any personal bias or stigmatizing attitudes the clinician might hold.
This is the fourth video in a new series launched by Boston Medical Center’s OBAT Training and Technical Assistance Team, aimed at providing clinical care teams with education on topical issues in the field of addiction treatment.
