The Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network

The Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network (ATTC Network) is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to promote the use of innovative best practices in addiction treatment and recovery services. Created in 1993, the ATTC Network operates 10 U.S.-based centers, 2 national focus area centers, and a network coordinating office.

For many people, access to a safe and supportive living environment is necessary to help them sustain recovery and avoid return to use, particularly in the early days of  recovery. Recovery housing is intended to provide drug and alcohol free living spaces that also help residents build recovery skills and resilience and improve their well being.

Addiction’s Impact on Children and Families: Resources for Parents, Grandparents, Children and Youth

Research has shown that having a close family member with a history of addiction is a risk factor for substance use and for developing a substance use disorder.
