A brief overview of the Moyer Foundation’s Camp Mariposa, a national addiction prevention and mentoring program for youth who have been impacted by substance misuse in their families. Launched in 2007 in Seattle, Camp Mariposa now operates in more than 12 locations across the country, providing services to children ages 9 to 12. First Lady of North Dakota Kathryn Helgaas Burgum created Recovery Reinvented to end the shame and stigma that often accompanies people in recovery from addiction. As a person in long term recovery herself, she saw the need to empower people to seek help by openly talking about addiction and reality of recovery. Recovery Reinvented holds events in North Dakota with the goal of ending shame and stigma and creating recovery supportive communities. Answering the Cry of our Warriors: Programming to Support Native Americans Re-entering the Community

This case study briefly explains the components of the Warrior Down reentry program designed by White Bison, Inc. for use with American Indian and Alaska Native populations reentering communities following incarceration. Key elements of this successful program include peer-to-peer programming, the use of traditional healing practices, continuous support from prison to reentry in the community, and complimentary programming for family members.

The Center for Opioid Research and Education is a consortium of physicians, nurses, pharmacists and patients who together created procedure specific opioid prescribing guidelines. In 2017, the consortium published guidelines offering consensus recommendations for the range of appropriate opioid prescribing following 20 common surgical procedures, and in 2018 published guidelines for 14 common dental procedures.
