Public Libraries Respond to the Opioid Crisis with Their Communities – Summary Report

The Public Library Association and OCLC, a global library cooperative, prepared a report on the efforts undertaken by 8 public libraries to address the impact of the opioid crisis in their communities. This summary report provides an overview of these 8 initiatives, describes the challenges libraries faced in implementing their programs most notably stigma and the lack of funding, and provides guidance for other libraries seeking to design and implement programs of their own. The authors also prepared a companion report that provides details on the 8 libraries featured in this research.
