Expanding Access to Community-based Substance Use Disorder Treatment

This case study looks at an innovative strategy to provide community based substance use disorder services for individuals dually insured by Medicare and Medicaid in Hennepin County, Minnesota. The study focuses on improvements made to the county’s withdrawal management/detoxification center to make it more welcoming to clients, provide integrated staffing including clinicians and peer support counselors, and expand onsite services to deliver more services along the continuum of care.
