Created by the National Center on Domestic Violence, Trauma and Mental Health, the toolkit is intended to be used for screening, assessment and brief intervention in healthcare, mental health and substance use disorder treatment settings. It includes guidance about asking about mental health and substance use coercion and recommendations for responding to a positive screening response. The toolkit also includes information about safety planning and ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality.
