This reports provides a summary of key findings from the 2019 National Survey on Drug Use and Health which measures national indicators of substance use and mental health among noninstitutionalized individuals 12 and older. The national indicators focus on tobacco use, alcohol use, kratom use, illicit drug use, initiation of substance use, perceived risk from substance use, substance use disorders, major depressive episodes, any mental illness, serious mental illness, co-occurring major depressive episode and substance use disorder, and perceived recovery.
