The Rural Community Toolbox website, created by the Office of National Drug Control Policy, provides resources to fight addiction in rural communities. The toolbox provides information about funding opportunities and technical assistance offered by 16 federal departments and agencies. It also includes a library of information related to drug addiction in rural American including such topics as adverse childhood experiences; American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian populations; economic development; healthcare workforce, housing and homelessness; infrastructure; medication assisted treatment; recovery, suicide and suicide prevention; and transportation. Also on the site is a Community Assessment Tool and Rural Community Action Guide to help local policy makers use data to help develop community plans to address addiction.
