In 2012, experts created a checklist of best practices for prescription drug monitoring programs (PDMPs) as a way of improving the capability of PDMPs to produce data that is more accurate and useful. This 2017 report from the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Training and Technical Assistance Center at Brandeis University reports on how states have adopted these best practices.
