The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration published these guidelines for best practices in operating recovery housing as directed by the 2018 SUPPORT Act.
The report includes 10 guiding principles designed to improve recovery housing as part of the continuum of care that supports individual recovery and prevents relapse including ensuring access to medication assisted treatment, and also aims to describe common indicators that could be used to identify fraudulent recovery home operators.
