This patient education guide was written to help people who use drugs access safe and quality health care. It provides information about the importance of seeking health care when appropriate, provides tips on finding a good health care provider or clinic, how to prepare for healthcare visits, how to communicate with your doctor, and information about specific health care concerns such as reproductive health and prenatal care and LGBTQ communities. This guide was written by the Harm Reduction
Coalition and is specifically designed to help patients avoid stigma and judgement when accessing health care.
