This 2016 report from the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine reviewed evidence on how best to counter negative stigmatizing attitudes towards people with substance use disorders or mental health conditions. The report summarizes the evidence review and provides recommendations for successful stigma change campaigns, how best to encourage people to seek treatment and services, and how to develop a research agenda for further efforts.
